that is beautiful in a dark and real way. looks like everything is underwater, emotionally underwater.

tricky thing with scanning aesthetic that I haven't figured out myself: its important to see what others have done with the medium to see if its like a holga: everything just looks weird and different, or if its being used as a legitimate conduit. i myself don't know regarding my own use of it. great image tho, hope its at a trillion dpi.

trillion and two dpi. The trouble with looking at others work before doing anything is that everything has been done already so one might discourage themselves away from ever being creative. I find it important to know where you come from and have some history under your belt but investigating everything i do via someone else's artist practice has never worked for me. I did see a beautiful scanned art piece in 99, I kept the postcard and pinned it over my desk. I doubt I would have scanned that first flower without this previous knowledge as a reference point. looking at others work can be so tricky . . . thanks for the comment.
